See Seg about this Army
The max muster of the troops of Rohan was 1000 Infantry (@50:1 that is 20 figures) and 12000 Cavalry (@50:1 that is 240 figures). Each regiment of cavalry was called an eored and had 120 riders. It was a Militia Army, with the thousands of warriors being summoned by the King or Lord to muster at either Dunharrow or Helms Deep when required.
The Rohirrim were a people of Men from the kingdom of Rohan, renowned as "horse-lords" for their exceptional horsemanship and cavalry. They were originally Northmen from the Éothéod who were granted land by the kingdom of Gondor in exchange for their aid and they became Gondor's most important allies. Key Rohirrim figures include King Eorl, Helm Hammerhand, and the royal family like Théoden, Éomer and Éowyn.
They were granted the plains of Calenardhon by the Steward of Gondor in 2510, which they renamed Rohan (meaning "horse country"). Their culture is deeply tied to horses; they are skilled horse-masters and horse-breeders, with their entire way of life centered around their herds and cavalry. They are a tall, fair-haired people, and while they lived mostly in villages on the plains, they had few cities.
The Rohirrim are bound to Gondor by a historic oath sworn by Eorl the Young. They serve as Gondor's primary cavalry force, providing crucial support in times of war, such as the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. They speak both Rohanese and the common speech, Westron. They also sometimes refer to themselves as the "Eorlingas," meaning "people of Eorl". The name "Rohirrim" is Sindarin and means "Horse-lords," while the land of Rohan is often called the "Mark" or "Riddermark" by its people.
