The Elves of Lothlórien, known as the Galadhrim, are a woodland people living in a beautiful, magical forest ruled by Lady Galadriel & Lord Celeborn. Their realm, also called the "Golden Wood" due to the golden mallorn trees, is protected by Galadriel's magic, which makes it an island of safety against evil forces. The Galadhrim are skilled archers, living a life of watchfulness rather than revelry & time passes differently for them
 
Lothlórien is situated between the rivers Celebrant & Anduin, east of the Misty Mountains. The people are the Galadhrim, a mix of Silvan Elves who were joined by some Sindar & Ñoldor, led by Galadriel and Celeborn. The Galadhrim are graceful but strong, resistant to illness & possess keener senses than Men

Galadriel & Celeborn rule the realm, with their capital in the city of tree-houses, Caras Galadhon. The Galadhrim are often on guard & their hands are frequently on their bowstrings rather than their harps. Time seems to pass differently in Lothlórien compared to the outside world. For mortals, it flows swiftly, while the Elves experience cycles of the moon in the outside world continuing apace
