BATTLE RESULTS
Civil War had raged for years, between the two Roman factions, but in this battle, Vortigern's sons, defeated Ambrosius the Elder & ended the civil war
The Romans, trying to take the ford & fort at Aylesford, were repulsed by Hengist on the river Medway at Aylesford, Hengist securing his border
Hengist, marching to take London, was attacked on the river Cray at Crayford. However he inflicted a heavy defeat on the Romans & took London
The Romans attempting to destroy Reculver fort & docks, were, after heavy fighting routed by Hengist, who finally secured Kent & London for his Jutes
Hengist, now secure in the areas of London & Kent, wished to secure his northern border, so marched to eliminate St Albans as a power. Drawing the Romans out into the fields, Hengist soundly defeated them & took St Albans
